The Anatomy and 'Royal Pains' of Doctor Dramas

Effortless suspense and relevance propel doctor dramas (much like detective dramas) into instant hits. TV networks love a sure thing and doctor dramas have proven themselves the closest thing since 1954's "Medic" on NBC. If the consequences are life or death, viewers are riveted. No wonder so many medical series have cropped up, but while the drama is great for ratings the shows come up short on medical accuracy.
