Dutch suspect Joran van der Sloot has confessed to disposing the body of missing American student Natalee Holloway while on the Caribbean island of Aruba, a Dutch newspaper reported on Tuesday. He made the statements in front of an RTL television camera.
His father, who many believe was instrumental in covering up for his son, died suddenly in Aruba on February 10, 2010. Coincidence... I think not!
The Aruban newspaper Diario reported that Paul van der Sloot, 57, died of a heart attack on the Dutch island in the Caribbean. The paper's Web site says he collapsed late Wednesday after playing tennis and was declared dead at a hospital.
Van der Sloot's son Joran has been characterized by Aruban prosecutors as the only suspect in the case.
Natalie Holloway, from Mountain Brook, Alabama, was 18 when she was last seen leaving a bar in the Aruban capital on the final night of a high school graduation trip. No trace of her has ever been found.
Did Joran confess because his father is now dead and can no longer help hide information??
Months before this, Joran van der Sloot had admitted being with Holloway on the beach the night she died. He told an undercover tv reporter that a friend had dumped her body at sea.
TV crime reporter Peter R de Vries, who has followed the case closely, says he is convinced Paul van der Sloot, Joran's dad, helped his son in covering up the crime.
'I am personally convinced he knew more [about the case] and helped his son that night.'
Well, Joran's dad is no longer here to "help" and now he has officially confessed "on the record."
The body of Natalie Holloway has never been recovered.
