Why Do A-List Ladies like 'Smurf's' Star Katy Perry Go Animated?

Gorgeous A-list celebrities have been squeezing voice actors out of animated roles for years. Stars like Angelina Jolie ("Kung Fu Panda 2"), Cameron Diaz ("Shrek"), Miley Cyrus ("Bolt"), Mila Kunis ("The Muppets" and "Family Guy"), and Katy Perry ("The Smurfs") have all gone animated. Showing off their aesthetically pleasing talents in front of audiences is their calling, so why waste all the high maintenance beauty regimens to stand in a booth and hide behind a CGI or hand drawn animated character?
