In her first interview following the public announcement of her divorce to husband, Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez opens up to Vanity Fair about her failed marriage, her children, and why she remains optimistic about love.
“ I remain an eternal optimist about love. I believe in love. It’s still my biggest dream. I am positive—determined to move forward with my life, bring up my babies, and do the best job I can as a mother, entertainer, and person. I now look forward to new challenges. I feel strong,” she tells Vanity Fair.
There's more! She also talks about her relationship with P. Diddy and why the engagement to Ben Affleck was called off. Excerpts pertaining to that news was not released on the website (obviously.) So you'll have to buy the magazine to get the scoop. Or, just wait for me to buy it and I'll relay the info to you.
Let's be honest, what you're really curious about is why the singer turned actress decided to get a divorce. Well, you just might find out:
“Sometimes we don’t realize that we are compromising ourselves. To understand that a person is not good for you, or that that person is not treating you in the right way, or that he is not doing the right thing for himself—if I stay, then I am not doing the right thing for me. I love myself enough to walk away from that now...I will always respect Marc as a singer and performer...We actually work great together, and he was always very supportive. Together we could make magic—and we did. He will always be in our lives. He will always hold a special place in my heart as the father of my children.”
Sounds like a good read to me! You can pick up the September issue of Vanity fair today or tomorrow, (depending on the distributor), and on the iPad on Tuesday August 9th.
