On Set Of "Hunger Games" Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz & More

Another "end of the world" survival movie....think someone's trying to give us a sign?!



We told about this movie a while back because it stars Hollywood's newest "it girl" Jennifer Lawrence, from X-men: First Class.





Inspired by the best-selling young-adult novel by author Suzanne Collins, "The Hunger Games" tells the dark tale of a 16-year-old girl named Katniss Everdeen, who is selected to compete in a vicious televised tournament in which 24 teenagers from a post-apocalyptic society are selected to fight to the death for the entertainment of the masses.



The movie features an all-star cast including Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Donald Sutherland and Lenny Kravitz.



Gary Ross directs the film, which hits theaters March 23, 2012. Steven Soderbergh recently signed on as the second unit director.

Bad Superhero Films Have Something to Learn from 'X-Men: First Class'

"X-Men: First Class" embodies the elusive alchemy which makes for an engaging and successful superhero film. It follows a longstanding series of "X-Men" films which garnered box office success and has been heralded by critics as one of the best films in the franchise so far. Unfortunately not every American superhero movie has had as much success in creating characters and story lines audiences wish to commemorate.

New Movie! "X-Men: First Class" TRAILER (Video)

The upcoming X-Men prequel, "X-Men: First Class", is ready for release this Summer and we have the preview for you!

The upcoming prequel stars James McAvoy as Charles Xavier and Michael Fassbender as Erik Lehnsherr (aka Magneto), two friends discovering their extraordinary powers for the first time before mutants became commonplace in the world.

The two band together with others like them to help avert nuclear Armageddon, but in the process have a falling out and become bitter enemies.

The film also stars Jennifer Lawrence, January Jones, Rose Byrne, Lucas Till, Jason Flemyng, Zoe Kravitz and Kevin Bacon.

"X-Men: First Class" opens June 3.

20 year old star on the rise, Jennifer Lawrence, heats up the new issue Of GQ magazine and stars in this summer's X-Men: First Class, as the shape-shifting Mystique.




The film's director, Matthew Vaughn, tells GQ,

"There are a lot of young American actors right now who haven't got any technique, and to be blunt, a lot of these kids assume that just by having a good set of teeth and t*ts, smiling for the camera's gonna be enough. I needed someone who could act."

Vaughn picked Lawrence based on her audition tape alone and not seeing any of her past work, including last year's Winter's Bone, for which the actress was nominated for an Oscar.

Jennifer also stars with Jodie Foster and Mel Gibson in this summer's "The Beaver" and the post apocalyptic tale "The Hunger Games". Not only that, she is also going to star in "The House at the End of the Street" coming in 2012.



Jen's getting a lot of great roles coming up and not to mention she's a hottie....think she's Hollywood's next big star?
