Day 9 Fashion Picks From Cannes: Best Yet?

Last night at Cannes the amFar Cinema Against Aids Gala took place. I love gala’s because that means gala attire will be in full force! Last night featured a surplus of ball gowns and couture pieces, which is always visually pleasing.

Here are some of my favorite looks from last night’s gala (There was so many to chose from)

Elisabetta Canalis in Roberto Cavalli:
Canalis rolls off a yacht and looks like this! The bronze Cavalli gown is figure flattering with a plunging neckline to further showcase the Italian actress’ assets. The gown features faux crocodile detail.

Kirsten Dunst in Chanel Couture:
I love Chanel and I love Kirsten Dunst in Chanel even more! The actress wore this ethereal soft pink gown from the lines Spring 2011 Couture collection to last night’s gala.

Bar Refaeli in Roberto Cavalli:
The champagne gown features feather and beading detail and a thigh high slit. The Cavalli gown is extremely sexy and the messy up do works well to tame the look.

I’ve grown custom to seeing Bar in short, sexier pieces. When we saw her on day 7 walk the red carpet in a long sleeved midnight blue Cavalli gown, I was stunned. Aside from an open back, she was covered from the collarbone down but managed to showcase every asset. I’d love to see her mix it up a bit more and play with longer but equally sexy pieces.  But realistically, if you were Bar, would you cover up?

Uma Thurman in Chanel:
The 2008 Fall Couture gown featured floral appliqué detail around the neck to complete a simple but elegant look. Uma matched a pair of signature flats with the grey gown and opted for an up do to showcase the floral detail.

I have to say, I’m extremely impressed with the jurors wardrobe during the French Film festival. Having to attend every event, you would think she would have made a few poor decisions in terms of wardrobe choices, but no! Every outfit was appropriate and flattering. Uma is definitely a fashion icon that will be remembered from Cannes 2011.

Gwen Stefani in L.A.M.B:
I’m not usually a fan of the singer’s fashion line, which is why this gown completely caught me off guard. The mermaid inspired halter gown is stunning. The way it fits Stefani and how she wears it doesn’t hurt either. The contrasting gold belt completes the look. This was definitely the biggest but most pleasing surprise of the night.
