Cameron Diaz stars as Elizabeth Halsey, a crass, self-centred, cruel middle school teacher who becomes increasingly more bitter and ignorant when her rich fiancee leaves her after discovering she is a gold digger.
Another school year approaches and Elizabeth is disgusted at the realization that she will have to continue teaching as a means of supporting her lifestyle of expensive clothing and leisure abuse of alcohol and drugs.
She decides to put the students on the back burner and devote all of her time towards finding a man to take care of her, so she never has to teach again.
That's where Mr. Delacorte (Justin Timberlake) comes into play. As the grandson of a watchmaker from the Jaeger La-Coultre dynasty, Halsey has her eyes set on him and naturally, his money. The only thing standing in Elizabeth's way is her co-worker Amy Squirrel (Lucy Punch) and her lack of funding to buy a new pair of breasts to hook him in for good.
Director Jake Kasdan attempts to shock the audience with overtly crude jokes and inappropriate behaviour from Elizabeth Hasley. The film is based on racial slurs, sexist comments, and vulgar statements each attempting to outdo the last comment.
Diaz and Segel who plays Russell Gettis are tied for best performance-- Jason Segel never disappoints! Justin Timberlake's character is by far, the most irritating. I have been looking forward to his upcoming film, Friends with Benefits, for a while, but following this performance, I'm worried.
My advice, don't splurge the $10+ wait and rent it!
