Why Anti-Heroes Are a Lot More Fun in Summer of the Superhero

This summer, superheroes rule the box office. From Captain America to Thor, Green Lantern, Transformers and X-Men, the world is in peril and these do-gooders are always available to save us. The infallible hero with an unwavering conscience is commendable but it's the dark, brooding, tortured antiheroes who really pique our interest. They are the vigilante victors without the public relations ploys. The ones who trade in a crisp clean smile for intimidation and fury -- who ultimately do good but aren't above breaking all the rules to get results.
