Def Jam Wins Bidding War Over Rapper Shyne For 7 Figure Record Deal!!

Former Bad Boy recording artist, Shyne, who was recently released from prison after serving a 10 year sentence has reportedly inked a seven figure record deal with Def Jam.

According to reports, Def Jam won the bidding war between Dr. Dre, Jimmy Iovine and other major labels for the rights to release Shyne’s new album.

Reportedly Shyne is being managed by Hip-Hop Since 1978, the same management company over Lil’ Wayne, Drake and Young Jeezy to name a few.

Shyne was denied access into the country due to errors on his immigration papers and it is reported that he may record his new album in London. Meanwhile, Scott Storch is expected to be producing a huge portion of Shyne’s new album.

This isn’t the first time Shyne landed a seven figure deal with Def Jam. In 2004, Shyne was signed to Def Jam but soon ran into problems with CEO LA Reid over the promotion of his 2004 album “Godfather: Buried Alive.”

Soon after releasing his first album “Shyne,” his career came to an abrupt halt when he was sentenced to 10 years in prison for assault and gun charges after he, along with Diddy and then girlfriend Jennifer Lopez were involved in a New York nightclub shooting.

You can listen to Shyne's 1st song since his release here- Leaked off Dj Khaled's new album

Shyne Speaks On Prison, DIddy, & Visits Belize Jail on Thanksgiving Day...[VIDEO INCLUDED]

In case you missed it, Shyne recently opened up about his eight-year prison stint.

“I didn’t blame nobody else for my mistakes. It wasn’t my co-defendant’s fault that I shot somebody in the club, I take responsibility, I did that s**t, it was a terrible mistake and I moved on. So that’s what I challenge you guys to do. Don’t blame the C.O. [Correctional Officer], don’t blame the police – you have to take accountability for your actions and you have to decide what your future is gonna be. You can’t be following what this one say and that one say, I spent ten years in the cooker – it’s a lot of gangbangers in New York, I didn’t bang because I’m universal. I’m a boss – I mess with everybody. I had the Italian mafia, John Gotti’s boys, I sit down and break bread with them. I had the Irish n***as, the Spanish n***as, the point I’m trying to make to you is that you have to be a boss. And I started this when I was young.”

Shyne called P Diddy a “liar” last month after the music mogul allegedly said he had a phone conversation with the ‘Bad Boys’ rapper.

Diddy was cleared of the same charges during the pair’s trial.

Shyne also visited prisoners at Belize’s Hattiesville prison on Thanksgiving Day,

and spoke about his own time behind bars, as well as his plans to get his life back on track following his release. He told inmates they need to develop a strategy for their life beyond prison.

Diddy on Shyne's Deportation: "When Everybody Go To Jail A lot of People Jump On The Bandwagon"

Here’s Diddy on Shyne’s exit from America right after he left prison:

“The overall feeling at the end of the day, a lot of people have always asked questions, I’ve never had any problem with Shyne. I’ve never had any problem with him, I was looking forward to him coming home and just getting out here and letting people see what I saw. I think it was cut down too early, people never got a chance to see what I saw. The thing that bugs me out is people forget what was going on at the time, y’all was throwing so many stones at me telling me how Shyne sounded like Biggie. All the cats up here at [New York radio station Hot 97] was throwing stones at me and I was telling them, ‘Nah, the kid got something special.’ At the end of the day, when everybody go to jail, a lot of people jump on the bandwagon and it was beyond that to me…I never wish bad on anybody, I only wish somebody the best and I hope he gets to come back to the United States, he did his time and deserves to come back.”

Shyne Will Be Deported!

So everyone's talking about Shyne getting ready to be deported! We were not sure what was going to happen but it looks like this is true.

Shyne expects to be shipped to Belize, where he will likely continue his fight to stay in the United States. A New Yorker since 13-years-old, he was raised by his mother and grand mother in Brooklyn. They still live in the United States.

Harvard Professor Charles Ogletree is working on Shyne's behalf with his legal team and they seek a pardon through New York Governor David Patterson. Paterson's first gubernatorial pardon was for Ricky "Slick Rick" Walters, a rapper convicted in 1991 on attempted murder.

Shyne was incarcerated for almost 10 years for assault and weapons charges.

Moses Leviy is Shyne's new legal name, changing it in homage of his Jewish grandmother.

Shyne's Lawyer and Belize- Prime Minister Dad Speak on Deportation: He has a "Green Card!"

Former Bad Boy rapper Shyne is fighting deportation to Belize, according to his attorney Oscar Michelen. Shyne was released from prison on Tuesday October 6 after completing more than nine years of a ten year sentence following a 2001 New York nightclub shooting involving his mentor and felow rapper Diddy (Sean Combs) and Jennifer Lopez.

But he was immediately taken into custody by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) authorities while his future immigration status is determined. Shyne was born in Belize to a Belizean woman, Imeon Myvette and his Belizean father Dean Barrow a politician and attorney who is now the Prime Minister of Belize. Ms. Myvette subsequently emigrated to the U.S.A. and her son eventually followed her to live there.

Shyne's attonery Oscar Michelen in an interview with Belize radio and T.V. stations in Belize today stated that Shyne wants to remain in the U.S.A. and his family has hired immigration lawyers in New York to try and ensure that he remains there.

According to Mr. Michelen, Shyne has a "green card", or permanent residence in the U.S. but never acquired U.S. nationality. Mr. Michelen said that his client is fighting deportation on two main grounds. Firstly that he has been a model prisoner, and secondly that he is the subject of a multi-million dollar civil lawsuit in the U.S.A. brought about by the victims of the shooting at the now defunct New York Club. But he admitted that because of the more strict post 911 immigration rules on deporting felons to the country of their birth, it will not be an easy battle.

Meanwhile in Belize, Shyne's uncle Michael Finnegan who is a member of the Belize Cabinet, Minister of Housing and close ally of Shyne's father Prime Minister Dean Barrow, told the media today that if Shyne is deported, he will be welcomed in Belize. Mr. Finnegan who helped raise Shyne as a child in Belize when his mother left for the U.S.A. said that "...his accomodations are ready and waiting for him in Belize if he is deported."

Shyne Remains In Custody Due To Immigration Status!

Just when we think Shyne is coming back home in the U.S, it looks like he may be deported to his real home in Belize!

MTV is reporting that the former Bad Boy rapper's release is now under review, as representatives for the rapper revealed to MTV News that the Brooklyn MC is being detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at an unspecified facility in Western New York State. Officials are determining whether or not to deport the rapper, who was born in Belize, a rep explained.

"Shyne is currently in federal custody while his future immigration status is determined," the rep said in a message to MTV News. Shyne attorney Oscar Michelen emphasized to MTV News on Tuesday afternoon that Shyne has not been released, contrary to media reports.

Shyne Po: OUT OF JAIL!!!!! [Mark Curry Spills the Beans on Diddy, Biggie, The Murder & More!]

Moses Michael Leviy (born as Jamal Barrow), who is better known as Shyne, is set to be released from prison today.

This Belizean–American rapper was sentenced to 10 years following a nightclub shooting involving music mogul Diddy and Jennifer Lopez. Diddy narrowly missed going to prison on the same gun charges and Shyne ended up taking the fall.

It can be said that this incident took the shine off Diddy’s sterling reputation. Then girlfriend Jennifer Lopez unceremoniously dumped Sean after he was acquitted.

It's been sooooo long, I can't believe he is finally going to be released!

Now that Shyne is coming out, will he return to the mic?

DIDDY ASSOCIATE SPILLS THE BEANS ON BIGGIE & MORE!

After years of speculation regarding Biggie Smalls
and Diddy’s relationship, Former Bad Boy rapper and Ghostwriter Mark Curry is spilling the beans on both Diddy’s business habits as well as his alleged “estranged” relationship with Biggie.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Mark Curry, he is an Atlanta-based performer who was signed to Bad Boy from 1997 until 2005. He was previously Diddy’s Ghostwriter, writing most of Diddy’s first hit singles including “Come With Me.” Well now, Mr. Curry isn’t so pleased with Diddy and has made several claims against Diddy.

Curry claims that Biggie was not best friends with Diddy and was actually trying his best to depart from Bad Boy and create his own label/record company before being murdered back in 1997. In Curry’s interview he also discusses his book “Dancing With The Devil” which is a tell all book about Diddy and his heinous business practices. Gyant Unplugged reports:

"Biggie was already on his way out the door," Curry said in an interview. "And I just remember the stories of when Biggie would want money from Puff -- and they would be doing a show and Biggie wouldn't show up to the show until ten minutes before the show and Puff would be like 'Where is he at, where is he at?' and that's where he would be his leverage. Like, Biggie knew that Puff needed him... If you break it down and look at the situation for what it truly is, Biggie Smalls made Bad Boy. Bad Boy is Biggie Smalls... A person like Mase that come to Puff and wants a record deal, automatically is willing to do anything he's gotta do to have that deal because he automatically -- he asked him for a record deal. So you gotta look at it like, you willing to sell your soul for this sh*t right here."

Curry makes other claims, one being that the artists on Bad Boy were not financially stable. Almost implying that Diddy is stealing money right? According to Daily Motion:

"I think the only person, man, that came away and walked off with a little bit of money is Mase and that's praise God for the church, because you know on Sundays, when they be taking that offer, that's good money," Curry said in an interview last winter. "So we can't say he's not doing nothing. As far as any other artists, if you can tell me another Bad Boy artist that's doing good, I'll listen to you, other than that, I can't waste my time trying to think 'cause I don't think there's one that exists."

Curry doesn’t stop there. Check out this excerpt from his book.

"Even worse, Puff charged the artists for his appearances on their records and in the videos, usually without their realizing it until they received their royalty statements," the first chapter reads. "That's when they discovered that a large sum of their money had gone to fees which were doubled, tripled and even quadrupled because of Puff "special guest appearance. He charged artists, for example, for having his Bentley in their videos -- which he insisted upon -- then took a tax credit for business use of the car."

Diddy Speaks On Shyne Getting Out Of Jail!

Shyne, the former Bad Boy artist, is coming up on his release from prison and Bad Boy head man Diddy recently talked about his boy getting out.

"It's a blessing that he's coming home," Puff told DJ Absolut in an interview over the weekend. "I spoke with him a couple weeks ago. He sounded like he was in good spirits. I know he can't wait to get home."
Diddy says Shyne is coming back and he's bringing it when he does. "I know he's definitely gonna heat the whole scene up. He's definitely gonna do it, you know what I'm saying, he definitely was one of the most talented young artists that I had the pleasure to work with so I'm quite sure he's been using his time wisely and I'm quite sure he has some heat."
