2011 BET AWARDS

The 2011 BET Awards were held last night at The Shrine Auditorium in L.A.  Chris Brown was one of the biggest winners of the night, taking home 4 awards which included Male R&B Artist of the Year.  Steve Harvey accepted The Humanitarian Award and Patti Labelle took home The Lifetime Achievement Award.

Other winners included Nicki Minaj for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, Kanye West for Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, Wiz Khalifa for Best New Artist and Jaden and Willow Smith who tied for Young Stars Award.

Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown, Anita Baker, and Lil Wayne were just a few performances that took place.

Kerry Washington in Michael Kors:

Kerry Washington wore an acid green column gown by Michael Kors that showcased her stunning legs courtesy of a thigh high slit. The gown also features a cut out at the chest and a halter ring around the neck.

The color of this dress against her skin tone is what really works for me. It’s perfect for summer -- it’s perfect for her!  Hands down, the best look of the night, I just wish she had chosen a different pair of heels. The black is a bit heavy.

Alicia Keys in Dolce & Gabbana:

Alicia Keys wasn’t the only one who opted for dark colors last night. Is her outfit better suited for the fall, yes! Is it still fashion forward and worthy of discussion, yes! So here we go…

The singer wore a monochromatic outfit that consisted of a white blazer and black top and dressier pants by Dolce & Gabbana. Her pumps really are the best part of the entire outfit. The zebra print Christian Louboutin Daffodil pumps complete her look.

Kelly Rowland in Notte by Marchesa:

The former singer and current UK X Factor judge was a close second for best dressed in this fuchsia Marchesa dress. The ascending ruffle is classy and feminine while the above the knee hemline and snug fit is both flattering and hot! 

Keri Hilson in Tibi:

Here’s another singer who opted for darker shades. Keri Hilson attended the BET Awards in a black and purple strapless jumpsuit by Tibi. Her jewelry is the best part of her outfit – I want the green pendant necklace and gold cuff .

Willow Smith:

She’s adorable! I love this trend right now  -- Bieber did it, then Tiffani Amber Thiessen did it, and now Willow Smith is showing some love for her dad in this old school Fresh Prince of Bel-Air tee. I wonder who will be the next to pay tribute through?

Willow Smith is edgy and very trendy for a pre-teen. Just look at the red leather jacket, black satin shorts, and combat boots. Edgy but age appropriate! I wonder if mom helped pick this outfit?

Michelle Williams in BCBG:

Michelle Williams walked the red carpet in a loose fitting BCBG purple cocktail dress by BCBG. Her dress may be casual but her Giuseppe Zanotti heels are definitely high-glam.
