Tragedy is Tops in Reality Show Ratings, Just Ask 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills'

By Aphrodite M.

"The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" will premiere on September 5 with more buzz and press coverage than it could've ever hoped for. The media exposure surrounding the tragic suicide of a housewife's husband is devastating but such misfortune helps propel reality ratings. People tune in for the revealing, rage-filled fights and dysfunction. Reality provides the licentious guilty pleasure previously reserved for soap operas. Eventually, even soap operas couldn't hold out against the popularity of over-the-top reality.

Lisa Raye Got Stacey Dash Fired From Their New VH1 Show "Single Ladies"?!

Rumor has it, LisaRaye has been working diligently behind the scenes to turn the ENTIRE cast and crew against Stacy O_o

Why though? Supposedly Lisa and Stacey have already been fighting behind the scenes...like a real physical fight where Lisa laced Stacey up! Sources say that anytime Stacey was late to set (which we're are told was not often) or anytime Stacey messed up on lines.....LisaRay allegedly would go slam talk her to producers.

Word is, it may have worked! Sources are saying Stacey was NOT asked to return back to "Single Ladies" next season. That's grimey!

Think this is the real deal or drama to stir up more promo for the show?

50 Cent Reality Show On VH1?

Really? ...Another T.V. show 50 Cent? Wasn't the last one bad enough?

Ok Ok, let's give him a chance here....

50 Cent has a new reality show on VH1 entitled the "Origins of Me." VH1 representatives say it will show a very different side of the best-selling rap artist.

Cameras will follow as 50 Cent finds new Curtis Jackson history. He will visit the places his family genealogy could be traced back to a few generations earlier. Visiting Edgefield County, South Carolina Fiddy will meet descendents of his family's slave owners and see where his family settled in the 1950s

Sounds pretty cool...

The 50 Cent "Origins of Me" TV special will air May 23 and 9 P.M. eastern time.

Enough for you to tune in?

Amber Rose Says She's Getting A VH1 Reality Show --- VH1 Says Different!

Ex girlfriend to Kanye West and new Fiance` to Wiz Khalifa, Amber Rose, has been telling everyone about her new Reality Show on VH1 but that's not what we heard..........

Amber Rose told VIBE magazine recently,
"I have a reality show that's gonna come out on VH1...I start filming early June."
My show's gonna be an open book of my life, my family, my businesses. It's called 'Behind Her Shades' because I usually have shades on, and it's everything that's behind them that people don't know about but they'll learn and part of that is my shade shop."

Reps from VH1 claim they have no information on a reality show from Kanye West's ex-girlfriend at this time. But just as most celebs, word is that Amber has shot a pilot for a reality series that she is shopping around to multiple networks, but the series has not yet been picked up.

We've seen this before with Stacey Dash, going around doing interviews talking about a new VH1 show and VH1 claimed different. Stacy ended up having a sitcom on VH1 that will be airing soon...so you never know, maybe Amber will eventually get hers.

Fabolous Kicks Baby Mother/ New VH1 "Love & HipHop" Star, Emily B, To The Curb!

Have you seen VH1's new reality show, "Love & Hip-Hop" yet? The show is supposed to show the struggle of women in the Hip-Hop industry and that's where you can find Emily B spilling the beans on her love life with rapper Fabolous and their child together.

But if you seen last week's episode, you may have thought Emily B and her client, NFL player Darrell Revis' relationship may be a little closer than just friends.

We aren't the only ones who must have thought that, because sources are now saying that Fabolous has kicked Emily out of the house.

According to Emily on the VH1 show, Fabolous does not like the idea of her on the show in the first place.

But the source says that following the rumors of a romance between Emily and Darrelle Revis, Fabolous has asked Emily to move out of the New York apartment she’s been living in on his dime.

Emily has had to resort to crashing with her manager, the source revealed. It’s not clear whether or not Emily and Fab’s two year old son had to bounce with mommy or still at home with Daddy.

The source also says us that Emily had to skip Fab’s birthday party last year because it was organized by his REAL girlfriend of five years: a woman named Saniyyah who currently lives in Philly.

As for now, this is just a rumor but, what a MESS!

UPDATE:

After getting wind of our report, Emily took it to her to Twitter to say the rumors are false,

So this week has been hilarious with the false rumors! So apparently I'm homeless now? Lmao! WoW really? Tune in #LoveandHipHop Mon @ 8pm:)

Somaya Reece has big plans in store for 2011 in music and also on the television air waves. Miss Reece just dropped her first single of the new year "DALE MAMI" and it features Lumidee, click here for the link. Also March 21st VH1 will be airing "Love & Hip-Hop" featuring Somaya Reece and Somaya says we will get to see inside her life, coming up in the Hip Hop industry as a female artist.

Somaya is taking it all in stride and says it best in her owns words below
quoted form her own website http://missreece.com/

"FOR A GIRL LIKE ME WHO LITERALLY GREW UP CLEANING TOILETS WITH MY MOTHER, WAS SABOTAGED MY ENTIRE COME UP BY JEALOUS HATERS BY BOYFRIENDS/GRIMY MUSIC PRODUCERS, BUT I NEVER GAVE UP ON MY MUSIC. HARD, BUT I OVERCAME ADVERSITY. AND I KEPT MY CHIN UP WITH A SMILE EVEN WHEN I WAS CRYING ON THE INSIDE. I CRAWLED OUT OF THE DARKNESS. MOMENTS LIKE THESE ARE REALLY DOPE FOR ME. AND A REMINDER OF HOW FAR I'VE COME IN LIFE. THE OPPORTUNITIES I HAVE BEEN GIVEN DUE TO MY HARD WORK ARE APPRECIATED LIKE THE ROOF OVER MY HEAD. I APPRECIATE THOSE THINGS, NOT THE MATERIAL. I DON'T
THINK I'M "COOL" JUST THANKFUL. I JUST WANT TO DO WHAT I LOVE AND BRING SMILES TO FANS. I'M CROSSING MY FINGERS."

Best of luck to Somaya with all that she touches!

More on VH1's show Love & Hip Hop (premieres Monday, March 21, 2011)

When people think of the hip hop life, they think of the players - the men who shape the music and the blinged-out lifestyle that comes with success. The fact is the hip hop life is different for the women involved: the spouses, girlfriends or artists trying to define themselves in a world where men are still calling the shots. VH1’s new, eight-part docu-soap series Love & Hip Hop follows four dynamic women who are connected to the world of hip hop, whether it’s through the men they love, or their struggle to be heard as an artist. Love & Hip Hop provides a dramatic, funny and sometimes heartbreaking look into the female side of the New York hip hop life as these four women try to claim their own place in it.

Carmelo Anthony To Ditch The Nuggets For The Chicago Bulls??

Word is that Carmelo Anthony‘s agents are trying to get the Nuggets star signed with either the Bulls or the Knicks for next season. Do you think Melo is really going to ditch Denver?

According to ESPN:

“The Chicago Bulls are interested in trading for the Denver Nuggets’ Carmelo Anthony and are discussing internally including Joakim Noah as part of the deal, according to a league source.”

“According to the source, the Nuggets are hesitant to take back Luol Deng as part of a deal with the Bulls because Denver is leery of taking on long-term contracts with the collective bargaining agreement set to expire on June 30, 2011. Deng is two years into a six-year, $71 million contract.”

Melo will also be on VH1 this season with his wife and TV Host, LaLa. The five-part series is called "LaLa's Full Court Wedding" and will premiere on Sunday, September 19 at 10:30pm and consist of four half-hour episodes and a one-hour wedding finale.

Uncle Luke & Platinum Selling South DJ, Magic Mike Sound Off @ VH1 Hip-Hop Honors!

So as previously reported, VH1 announced 44 new reality shows coming up (Vh1 Announced 44 New Reality Shows! Check ths list...) and that includes their annual VH1 Hip-Hop Honors, and this time around they are dedicated to honoring the south. But some legendary movers & shakers from the south are offended that they are not being honoring or even invited for that matter.

Uncle Luke released this statement saying "go fu*k yourself" to VH1 and that he is offended that he is not being honored individually only as a member of the 2-Live-Crew.

"This year I'm supposed to be honored, but they only want to honor me as a member of the 2 Live Crew...They want to honor Master P for his business savvy and they want to honor Jermaine Dupri for his business savvy and I'm kind of offended by that. We have basically been talking it out, but it's just so sad that people just don't know my history. They try to link me with a group and not see me as a businessman. Luke Records was the first independent black owned record company owned by a rapper. We were the first to distribute our own product. There's just so many first...For an organization like VH1 to try to say I'm just the first person to go to the Supreme Court over music censorship and be a part of the 2 Live Crew...I told them the other day, 'Just go f*ck yourself.' We were even the first to have a street team...I don't want to be a part of it unless you honor what I've done in a proper way. I've never asked anyone to do anything. But when you ask me to be a part of something, I'm not going to let you disrespect me."
Well, at least Luke is being honored somewhat. Platinum recording artist/ DJ, Magic Mike says he wasn't even invited and he is totally offended by that. Dj Magic Mike and the Royal Posse sold over a million copies, the album skyrocketed to Platinum status. Mike made history with the release of BASS IS THE NAME OF THE GAME and other albums.

Nevertheless, he has done A LOT for the south. I actually used to host a mixshow with Magic Mike in Orlando and he is also a good friend of mine, so I caught up with him in the next issue of Zaria Magazine in my "Talk of the Town" section. Here is a snippet of what DJ Magic Mike had to say about VH1 not honoring him:

Go to RIAA (Recording Industry of America) and see how many artist went gold or platinum from back then and you will see that answer is very few. We had to work for what we achieved because no one wanted to give it to us. I just want people to respect history.

For the rest of my interview with Dj Magic Mike, stay tuned right here for the release of Zaria Magazine's next issue and check the "Talk of the Town" section.
