Ne-Yo Responds About Beyonce Diss

When a comment from Ne-Yo hit the Internet in which the songwriter said that he wished he could have kept the Beyoncé hit "Irreplaceable" for himself, some took it as a diss to the star.

"One song that I gave away and didn't want to, but it's actually a good thing that I did, is Beyonce's 'Irreplaceable'. I honestly wrote that song for myself, but that song taught me a very interesting lesson: Many women don't think that differently. ... However, a man singing it comes across a little bit misogynistic, a little bit mean,"
said Ne-Yo.

When it was implied on Twitter that Ne-Yo was dissing Bey, Ne-Yo defended himself.
"Aiight my dude. Send me the link to where I said ANYTHING disrespectful about Beyonce, PLEASE! Dying to hear this. Just heard the audio where I supposedly dissed Beyonce. ARE Y'ALL SERIOUS!?! Did y'all even listen to what I said!?!"

Ne-Yo then continued to tweet his anger toward those who misunderstood what he said.
"I said I originally wrote the song for me. That's true, so OF COURSE I didn't want to give it away originally. IT WAS FOR ME. Once I realized how the song comes across if sung by a guy, that's when I decided to give it away. HOW IS THAT DISSING BEYONCE!?! She took the song and made it a smash, NOBODY can deny that ...

"You know what? At first I was apologetic about what the hacker said, now that I've heard the audio myself, not so much," he continued. "Y'all should listen a lil' harder before you start dissin' people. Makes you look real dumb. I'm tired of being nice to dumb people. ... Bottom line, Beyonce is my friend. To HELL with anybody that ain't SMART enough to understand what I truly meant."

TWEET OF THE WEEK: Ne-Yo vs. Snooki Twitter War!

Ne-Yo's not happy that the queen of MTV's "Jersey Shore" Snooki is on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine, so where would a celebrity go to vent out their feelings? .........Twitter, duh!

Ne-Yo logged onto Twitter and wrote,

@NeYoCompound: "Wow. Snooki is on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Really? I quit. (Just kidding, but almost serious . . . ) No disrespect to Snooki, I don't know her, but damn Rolling Stone? REALLY? REALLY! I guess ... I feel a rant coming on, but at the sake of sounding like I'm complaining or even hating, Imma chill. I got y'all. New album on the way. I WILL get the respect I deserve in this business or I won't be in this business. PERIOD."

Little miss Snooki didn't let that slide, she backfired with,

@Sn00ki (Nicole Polizzi): "Neyo's mad that I got the cover of rolling stone? Hm you lost a loyal fan. What a buzz kill.#sorry."

Are you upset that Snooki is on the cover? Do you think someone like Nicki Minaj, Drake or Ne-Yo should've been on there instead? Or does Snooki deserve it just like everyone else?

Listen to the TWEET OF THE WEEK, on Lady T's radio show below:

Snooki is sharing the cover with "Rookie of the Year" rapper, Wiz Khalifa.

Who's side are you on?

T-Pain, Lil Wayne & Ne-Yo's Moms Get New TV Show???

I guess they’re giving away TV shows like buy one, get one free because everybody and they’re moms has one. And I mean that literally. The latest ladies to join the boob tube bandwagon are not a new crop of Playboy bunnies or another crew of housewives, but actually the mothers of three of the biggest artists in music. T-Pain, Lil Wayne and Ne-Yo’s mothers are all teaming up and getting their slice of the TV pie with their new show, Dinner Table Discussions.

According to AllHipHop, the three ladies, Aliyah “Mama Pain” Najm (T-Pain‘s mother), Jacida Carter (Lil Wayne’s mother) and H. Loraine Smith (Ne-Yo’s mother) will serve as hosts of the show which will have more of a talk show format. Not like the mindless dribble that passes for other talk shows or reality shows, the women plan to enhance their viewership “educationally, economically, socially and culturally,” with their content.

“Our vision is to be a premier talk show that delivers a creative and informative format that assists viewers in educating and solving challenging issues,” Najm said in a statement. She continued, “There are situations in our communities, cities, states and even nationwide that people have made us aware of and they want to resolve the issues, but they just don’t know where to get help or how to properly handle certain issues.”

#PingBlackFriday Clue #2

Like they always say, mothers know best. The show is set to kick off in 2010. No word as yet on which network will carry the program.

Jim Jones Pleads Guilty to Assaulting Ne-Yo's Manager/ Jay-Z's Buddy!

Rapper Jim Jones born Joseph Guillermo Jones II, 33, plead guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge on yesterday for allegedly beating up Ne-Yo’s manager, Jayvon Smith at a Louis Vuitton store in New York back on December 22, 2008.

In January, Jim Jones plead not guilty and turned himself in to authorities and stated that the reported incident which caused him to go to court was an expensive inconvenience, as reported on HipHopRX.com.

Since pleading guilty on the charges, the rapper’s sentence has been agreed upon as time served, however this hasn’t prevented a $7 million lawsuit that was filed against Jim Jones by Jayvon Smith. Jayvon is the brother to Jay-Z's right hand man Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith.

Ty Ty is also the man accused of pepper spraying R. Kelly after Kelly flaked during “The Best Of Both Worlds Tour” in 2004 claiming that some fictitious character was pointing guns at him during a show in Madison Square Garden. The B.S. claims eventually led to Kelly being kicked off the tour which resumed with Mary J. Blige and several other acts. Jayvon Smith claims that he received swelling, pain and redness to his face as a result of being struck and hit by Jim Jones which is stated to have been caught on tape showing him being hit and kicked.

In other news, Jim Jones is preparing to go on tour which is one of the reasons the rapper fessed up to avoid trial and probation.

Ne-Yo-Because of You REVIEW

Below is a repost of a review I previously published on Jun 29, 2007, 4:56 PM

Ne-Yo-Because of You

For a while there it seemed like Ne-Yo was poised to become the next Nate Dogg singing hooks for rap artists like Ghost Face Killah (Back Like That) and Remy Ma (Feels So Good). He could have been construed as the next Babyface writing hit songs for the likes of Mario (Let Me Love You), Rihanna (Unfaithful) and Beyonce (Irreplaceable), but he was also co-starring in movies (Stomp The Yard (Good movie)). I guess doing all that he was also working on this new album Was it worth it? Not really.

The duet Leaving Tonight with Jennifer Hudson is ok, but never really gets off the ground because of the mediocre melody and uneven vocal styles. Jennifer simply outsings Ne-Yo on her vocals. Jennifer is such a powerful singer that it may take someone like the late great Gerald LeVert to match her vocally not an "airy" vocalist like Ne-Yo. Sex With My Ex has all the drum machine and electric synths of a Prince song. This "homage" to Prince does not succeed like other homages to Prince a la Diddy's Last Night (featuring Keyshia Cole) and just falls flat.

The "warm" Say It has an ethereal almost operatic hook and like many of the songs I designated as "warm" could probably be HOT given enough radio play, but right now...no.

The best song on the album is Do You and is already getting air play. It's pretty much alone among a lot of mediocre songs. I think next time he should keep the good stuff at home and stop spreading it around town. As usual here are all the tracks that I think are HOT, warm, or not.

1. Because Of You-HOT
2. Crazy (feat. JAY-Z) warm
3. Can We Chill
4. Do You -HOT
5. Addicted
6. Leaving Tonight (feat. Jennifer Hudson)
7. Ain't Thinking About You
8. Sex With My Ex
9. Angel
10. Make It Work- warm
11. Say It-warm
12. Go On Girl-warm

I reviewed Ne-Yo's better first album, but never posted it. Below are the tracks that are HOT.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ne-Yo-In My Own Words

1. Stay-HOT
2. Let Me Get This Right-HOT
3. So Sick-HOT
4. When You're Mad-HOT
5. It Just Ain't Right
6. Mirror
7. Sign Me Up
8. I Ain't Gotta Tell You
9. Get Down Like That-HOT
10. Sexy Love-HOT
11. Let Go-HOT
12. Time
13. Get Down Like That Remix (Featuring Ghost Face Killah)
