Last night, the 2011 Glamour Woman of the Year Award was held in London. Several women were honored for their contributions to music, film, tv, fashion and charity. Winners included Adele for UK Solo Artist of the Year, Kim Kardashian for Entrepreneur of the Year, Stevie Nicks for Outstanding Contribution, Victoria Beckham for Accessory Designer of the Year, and Garrett Hedlund for Man of the Year.
I guess this is the equivalent to Spike TV’s Guy Choice Awards? Kinda…only the focus is not on the opposite sex (but is still all about women.)
Maybe I’m still beaming from my review of the CFDA Awards but considering this was a night designated to glamour, I wasn’t feeling it. The attendees, nominees, presenters, winners, most of them were poorly dressed. Even my best-dressed picks were mostly underdressed and missing the wow factor. I have 3- only 3!
Kristen Stewart in Balmain:
Kristen Stewart is on the red carpet, and she doesn’t look painfully awkward! She looks happy actually. The actress attended the event in her staple ensemble: short dress and pumps, but with a twist! The mini dress is actually feminine (somewhat) and the pumps aren’t black. The printed pattern and neutral colors are actually a step towards femininity for Kristen and I like it!
Keri Hilson:
I'm not sure who makes this dress but it looks amazing on her body. The grey sheath is a perfect example of how longer hemlines and minimal skin revealed can still exude sex appeal- if it hugs your body just right. The dress features pleated detailing and is paired with black booties.
Kim Kardashian in Dolce & Gabbana:
The reality TV star accepted the award for Entrepreneur of the Year in a corseted black dress that clung to her body and accentuated her curves. The dress showcased a simple train and was accessorizes with the Kardashians staple- big statement jewelry.
