It’s official! The Real Housewives Series is coming to the north to shoot an all-new series this fall: The Real Housewives of Vancouver. Shaw Media confirmed the new series yesterday in Toronto at the Uprfronts (where the TV schedules for the upcoming year are presented to advertisers for the first time.)
For those unfamiliar with the series, it began in 2006 on Bravo with The Real Housewives of Orange County. The show is composed of six women who are extremely successful (or typically married to someone extremely wealthy) who allow camera’s full access to their lavish lifestyles.
The more successful locations have had tons of drama based on gossip, betrayal, jealousy and financial instability. Simply put, faithful viewers of the housewives seem to enjoy the reality stars that shop extravagantly, bicker back and forth over gossip, get into fist fights, have had messy divorces, and who have fallen from their empire.
Since 2006, the franchise has grown to include six more locations, including New York, New Jersey, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Beverley Hills, and Miami. Vancouver will be the eight instalment and the first Canadian location.
Now that the series has gotten the green light, which Vancouver housewives will be cast and will any other Canadian cities get the honor? I think some Gatineau housewives could give the New Jersey women a run for their money for tackiest series…
