#WestMemphis3 Plead GUILTY To Child Murder But Set Free After 18 Years

A lot of people are talking about the 3 men walk that just walked free today after serving 18 years in prison for a crime they claim they did NOT commit.

The West Memphis Three -- comprised of Damien Echols, Jessie Misskelley and Jason Baldwin -- were found guilty of killing 3 boy scouts in 1993. Misskelley and Baldwin were sentenced to life in prison. Echols was sentenced to death.

Even though the men have maintained their innocence for years ... today they plead GUILTY to the murders of Christopher Byers, Michael Moore and Stevie Branch....and then were set free!

In order to be released from prison, the men accepted a bargain known as an "Alford Plea" -- a "guilty" plea where the defendants still assert their innocence, despite evidence to the contrary.

The judge had a chambers meeting with each of the defendants ... and while each of the three men is still legally guilty of the crimes, the judge explained,
"in the interest of justice, they will go free."

The statement continues,
"Since the original convictions, two of the victims' families have joined forces with the defense, publicly proclaiming the innocence of the defendants. The mother of a witness who testified about Echols's confession has publicly questioned her daughter's truthfulness, and the State Crime Lab employee who collected fiber evidence at the Echols and Baldwin homes after their arrests has died.

In light of these circumstances I decided to entertain plea offers that were being proposed by the defense. I NEVER considered ANY arrangement that would negate the verdicts of those two juries. Guilt or Innocence was NEVER ON THE TABLE.

Today’s proceeding allows the defendants the freedom of speech to SAY they are innocent, but the FACT is, they just pled GUILTY.

I strongly believe that the interests of justice have been served today."

The statement continues,
"On behalf of the State I have preserved the verdicts of those juries and averted more prolonged and costly trials and appeals in this case.

The legal tangle that has become known as the West Memphis Three case is finished.

I have spoken with members of the victims’ families and I can tell you they are still suffering the loss of their little boys. Neither this nor any other proceeding can bring those children back.

As part of the plea and sentence negotiation the defendants were sentenced to a period of 18 years with credit for time served. Those sentences will be followed by 10 years SIS or Suspended Imposition of Sentence.

These defendants have spent roughly half of their lives in prison. I pray that during this time they have been rehabilitated.

The defendants are now at liberty and will remain at liberty so long as they do not violate the terms and conditions of the Suspended Imposition of Sentence agreement. ANY violation of these terms WILL RESULT in an additional 21 years of prison."

The West Memphis Three set the record straight today at their press conference.... claiming they served 18 years for a crime they "did not commit." BUT according to reports, the men CAN NOT sue over their incarceration.

So in a nut shell these men just plead GUILTY and were almost on death row but now they are free...You may be as confused as we are here but as of right now these men have walked and according to reports, right into the DMV to get their licenses.

Lindsay Lohan Spends More Time In Slammer!

On Friday, the actress was sentenced to 120 days behind bars for violating probation by allegedly stealing a necklace.

After spending a grand total of five hours behind bars, Lindsay Lohan posted $75,000 bail and was released from police custody Friday night in Los Angeles. She had been sentenced to 120 days behind bars for violating probation by allegedly stealing a $2,500 necklace from a boutique in Venice, Calif.

Lohan's attorney appealed the sentence Friday.

The theft case had been reduced from grand theft to a misdemanor on Friday.

In addition to her jail time, Lohan was also sentenced to almost 500 hours of community service, including 300 hours at a women's shelter and time at the county morgue.

Lohan's legal troubles began in earnest in 2007 when she was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and police found what appeared to be cocaine in her vehicle. She has since bounced in and out of rehab, repeatedly violated probation and skipped or appeared late for several court dates.

Da Brat & Prodigy Out Of Prison Years Later! Find Out What They Are Doing Now... (VIDEO)

Hip-Hop just got back TWO of our favs, Prodigy and Da Brat, but will they will making an official come back???

The Queens rapper, Prodigy, was released from a New York state prison Monday after serving three years for criminal possession of a weapon.

Best known as half of the group Mobb Deep, he was arrested in 2006 with longtime producer Alan (The Alchemist) Maman when police found a gun in his glove compartment during a traffic stop.

Watch here as he tells us what he plans on doing next...

WATCH IT FROM YOUR PHONE - CLICK HERE!

Prodigy hasn't said much but as for Da Brat, she is talking! Da Brat also spent three years behind bars and she has been released from prison as well.

Da Brat had been serving time due to an assault charge. Rapper/ super producer Jermaine Dupri made a public announcement on February 28th that she is finally out.

Happy day for me and all SO SO DEF fans,Da BRAT is finally home

In October 2007, Harris was found guilty of assault after allegedly attacking a waitress at a nightclub in Atlanta. The femcee was ultimately sentenced to 3 years in prison, 200 hours of community service and 7 years probation.

Da Brat insists she "made the best" of her incarceration...

"They had a lot of things for us to do. We went out to rec and played sports. They had auto paint and auto body, they had computer classes. It was almost like a college situation, except you can't leave. I wrote a book. I did quite a few things. Then I became a third shift orderly where at night I stayed up with a crew of homegirls and we cleaned the showers, buffed the floors, we had our headphones on bumping our CDs. We made the best of it..."

She talked about the celebrity support in prison and what the future holds for her career.

“All my family, all my friends. My mother — of course my sister (Lisa-Raye). JD wrote me...Despite what people had to say about my brother JD, he just could not see me in that light and I understand that. Some people don’t want to see their people locked down, so I’m not mad at him at all,”
she added about her mentor. Da Brat also noted that couple Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon visited her along with comedian Katt Williams.

And Da Brat reveals fans will be given a glimpse into her past when she releases her book, adding,
"It starts off talking about my life and growing up. How I was selling dope for a hot second, was in a gang for a hot second. My father was a gangster. Just different things. I was in a church playing drums. I want people to know there isn't just one side of Brat. I'm not just a rapper. It goes through my whole life story and could possible be a movie. So I'm just putting the finishing touches on it now."

Brat also says Lil' Kim needs to chill on the Nicki Minaj beef and says all the chicks wanted her in prison.

In the meantime, she's on house arrest for a bit.

Think Brat and Prodigy can make a come back in 2011?

Christina Aguilera Arrested For Public Drunkenness

Posted By: YBM
WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Fresh from a stumble at the Grammys and muffing the national anthem at the Super Bowl, singer Christina Aguilera was arrested early Tuesday near the Sunset Strip on suspicion of being drunk in public but will not be prosecuted.

Authorities said Aguilera, 30, was "extremely intoxicated" when a car driven by her boyfriend was stopped at about 2:45 a.m. on Clark Street, Los Angeles County sheriff's Deputy Bill McSweeney said Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said Aguilera
"didn't really understand where she was but was cooperative."
She was not belligerent in any way what so ever,"
Whitmore said Deputies saw the Mustang "burn rubber" and fish tail onto a street. The noise could be heard 100 feet away and constituted an "exhibition of speed" that prompted deputies to immediately stop the car, Whitmore said.

They smelled alcohol on the breath of 25-year-old Matthew Rutler, and a field sobriety test found him to have a blood-alcohol level of 0.09 percent, Whitmore said in California, a driver is legally under the influence at or above 0.08 percent. Rutler was arrested on suspicion of DUI and later released on $5,000 bail.

McSweeney said Aguilera appeared too drunk to care for herself and had no driver to take her home. She was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public so she could be held at the West Hollywood sheriff's station, he said. Whitmore did not know how much the 5-foot-2, 100-pound Aguilera may have been drinking. She was given a breath test but the results will not be made public because she had no criminal intent and will not be prosecuted, he said. However, the misdemeanor arrest will remain on her record.

Aguilera did not ask to have anyone pick her up during the 30 to 45 minutes that deputies were at the car, Whitmore said.
"She didn't really understand where she was,"
"She said she didn't drive so she didn't even know where she lived."
Whitmore said Aguilera was booked, finger printed and put alone in a cell. She was kept there until she was able to pass another sobriety test.
"When she was able to navigate and think on her own ... she was released"
on $250 bail. Aguilera was released from the back of the station at about 7:30 a.m. , avoiding a cluster of paparazzi out front. She was driven home by an acquaintance who may have been a bodyguard, Whitmore said.
"It ends here,"
he said.
"She's home safe and sound so, you know, job accomplished."
California law allows deputies to detain intoxicated people for their own welfare until they sober up, without having any intention of prosecuting them, McSweeney said.
"You're sitting in a car drunk. You have every legal right to be there, but when we come across you we say you can't drive and we're not going to put you on the sidewalk."

Former Member Of Jay-Z's Record Label, Rapper Tru Life To Get 10 Years In Prison.

Rapper Tru Life was offered a plea deal of 10 years in prison by Manhattan prosecutors on Wednesday in connection with a 2009 incident in which a 20-year-old man was fatally stabbed to death.

Tru Life, born Robert Rosado, was once signed to Jay-Z's Roc La Familia imprint. He and his brother Marcus Rosado were slapped with second-degree murder, gang assault and assault charges after the alleged altercation on June 15, 2009, that investigators said initially began with a dispute outside New York nightclub Pacha.

The deal would reduce the severity of the original charges and require the rapper and his brother, who was offered a 12-year deal, to waive their right to appeal.

According to Tru Life's attorney, Alan M. Abramson, the rapper has yet to formally agree to the plea deal. In an e-mail message to MTV News, Abramson wrote,
"The offer is being reviewed and no decisions have been made at this time."
Trulife and his brother allegedly chased Jason Gray, 30, and Christopher Guerrero, 20, into a lobby on E. 26th St. in New York City. Cops said the duo stabbed Guerrero in the stomach and Gray in the chest.

Court documents reveal the victim, Christopher Guerrero, died as a result of the alleged stabbing. The second man, Gray, was allegedly hospitalized for stab wounds.

Tru Life, from Manhattan's Lower East Side neighborhood, is best known in the hip-hop world for his beef with Queens rap duo Mobb Deep over a failed collaboration. The Puerto Rican lyricist was later a cornerstone of Jay-Z's then-burgeoning Latin-orientated Roc La Familia, along with Texas rapper Aztec. Tru Life never released an album on the label.

Lindsay Lohan Posts Bond, Judge Says "Things Will Be Different"

Lindsay Lohan offered to take a polygraph test to prove to the L.A. County District Attorney she did not steal the $2,500 necklace that triggered the felony grand theft charge ... but the D.A. refused.

We're told the prosecutors shot down the offer, because they didn't think polygraphs were scientifically sound. They also believed there was a significant amount of evidence proving Lindsay did indeed pilfer the jewelry.

Lindsay Lohan was just remanded into custody -- following a STRONG warning from Judge Keith Schwartz --
"You're no different than anyone else ... please don't push your luck."

Moments after Lohan entered a not guilty plea in her felony theft case -- the judge came down on her like a ton of bricks ... telling her
"things will be different"
this time around because she's on the hook for a felony.

During the hearing, Judge Schwartz said Lindsay's lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, and prosecutor Danette Meyers, were going to meet to possibly reach a plea bargain.

Lohan -- alongside attorney Holley -- was then remanded into custody ... and is currently being booked.

Judge Schwartz set her bail at $20,000 -- but warned,
"If you violate the law, I will remand you and there will be NO BAIL."

The judge also revoked Lindsay's probation in the DUI case and set bail at $20,000 -- so total bail is $40,000.

Lohan was also ordered to refrain from contacting the jewelry store during the case, after Meyers said someone had sent the store owners flowers, which kind of freaked them out.

Lindsay then posted bail.

Soon after she jumped on Twitter to see support from Celebrity Rehab Doctor, Dr. Drew, the doctor tweeted:

I am mortified how @Lindsaylohan is getting attacked when she is so fragile and just establishing her sobriety. Not at all what she needs

Lindsay responded,

@drdrew thank you for your support.. I appreciate it

T.I. & Tiny Caught In Sexual Act In Prison! T.I. Gets In Trouble!

T.I. and his wife, Tiny, enjoyed a little more than they should have, during Tiny's last visit at the Arkansas penitentiary where Tip is stationed over the weekend. According to TMZ, Tiny attempted relations -reportedly a hand job- with her hubby and he was disciplined because of it! Apparently, that's a no-no!

Prison guidelines allow kissing as a greeting and holding hands, but inmates are not allowed to leave the sight of the guards. According to the report, guards found the pair engaging in some sort of sexual activities a bit out of their line of sight.

The rapper was sent to a "special housing unit" that offers less freedom and more security for the time being. It is not known how long T.I.'s punishment will last.

On another note: Drug charges against Tiny, have been dropped after she finished a drug diversion program. T.I. and Tiny were arrested on Sept. 1.

Waka Flocka & Gucci Mane BOTH Locked Up! (DETAILS)

UPDATE: JAN. 5, 2011

Reports say Gucci Mane has opted to check into a mental clinic instead of facing another year in jail!

Rapper Waka Flocka turned himself in to authorities today on gun, drug, and gang-related charges -- because according to his mother,
"He didn't want to run."
If you remember, the police raided Waka's crib and handcuffed Gucci Mane just a few weeks ago - click here

The Henry County Sheriff's Department tells TMZ ... Waka was booked for multiple charges including:

-- Possession of firearm by convicted felon

The rapper's mother tells TMZ, Waka surrendered on his own this afternoon
"because he wanted to do the right thing and didn't want to run."

Gucci Mane headed to jail today after he was arrested while in Waka’s house during the raid. He is facing a 17-month sentence if found guilty for violating his probation.

"The court ordered Mr. Davis into treatment of a medicla treatment facility pending a (probation) revocation hearing later this month"

Justin Bieber Cleared Of Charges In Lazer Tag Assault

Back in October, pop star Bieber was accused of hitting a 12-year-old boy during laser tag at the Planet Lazer Entertainment Center in Richmond, British Columbia.

What followed were various conflicting reports that indicated the boy might have been bullying Bieber and called him a homophobic slur prior to the confrontation.

Now, Corporal Turley of the Richmond Royal Canadian Mounted Police says the following:
"This investigation into the incident is now complete and no charges will be
forwarded as the evidence collected [doesn't] support doing so."

Ja'Rule Sentenced To Two Years In Jail!

UPDATE: TUESDAY, DECEMBER 14, 2010

Someone hacked Ja'Rule's Twitter page and is writing all sorts of crazy stuff!

You can check it here - @RuleYork

ORIGINAL POST:

Ja Rule himself called the events on Monday (December 13) — where he was sentenced to two years in jail — a "minor setback to a major comeback" via Twitter. Let's hope so.

In 2009, MTV News spoke to the Murder Inc MC during a rally, somewhat ironically now, against gun violence where he joined forces with T.I., Reverend Al Sharpton and his National Action Network following the tragic fatal shooting of 17-year-old Corey Squire.

"I think it's important for a voice like myself or a T.I. who actually have gun issues to be the ones to speak out guns and putting the guns down and gang violence,"
Ja Rule said.
"I think we're the perfect voices to be talking about this, not to say that other voices aren't. Kids relate a little more when they know you've already been done that road and you know what they're going through and you can relate to them."
Ja Rule pleaded guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon, a class D felony in the second degree and was sentenced to two years in jail. The charges stem from a gun bust in July 2007, when both Ja and Lil Wayne were arrested separately following a concert performance. Similarly, T.I. reported to a federal prison in Arkansas on November 1 for violating his parole, stemming from gun charges for which he'd already served one year away.

"We've been through a lot and me and Tip, and I think he can attest to this, you grow a lot,"
Ja Rule said sincerely.
"As you start to grow up, you start to learn what life is really about, the damages you could be doing yourself and your community by speaking. I think sometimes we don't remember how strong our voices are.

"A young man asked me, 'Do I think hip-hop can help these communities? Do I think hip-hop can help get these kids to put the guns down?' "
Ja Rule continued.
"I answered him in a way that I felt really comfortable saying it, because I do feel that hip-hop has been part of the problem so now it's time for us to be part of the solution."
To that end, the MC began a philanthropic organization to give back to his own community almost a decade ago.

"L.I.F.E. Camp is started out in South Jamaica, Queens, where I'm from, and we're basically a forum for kids to come to when they don't got nowhere else to go,"
Ja Rule explained.
"Maybe their parents are on drugs or they dropped out of school, we take them in my life camp and try to give them a better life, a head start."

Of course 50 cent had to put his "two cents" in...50 posted a series of tweets earlier today:

Just click on the photo to enlarge!

Ja responded via Twitter: @ Nigga u PU**Y shut up before I smack u in yo mouth again lol!! The nerve of some niggas!!!

Ahh...just like old times.

"Ugly Better" Actor Stabs Mom To Death w/ Samurai Sword (Details + Photo)

Michael Brea, a 31-year-old actor seen on 'Ugly Betty' and 'Step Up: 3D,' allegedly stabbed his mother to death with a samurai sword in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Prospect Heights on Tuesday morning, police tell local TV station NY1.

Neighbors heard Brea yelling what they believed to be biblical passages and repeating the word "repent" during an argument in the night. Michael's Haitian mother, Yannick Brea, 55, was later found dead with multiple stab wounds. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly told NY1 that Brea was holding a Bible when police entered the apartment.

"I would say he was a down-to-earth, cool, hard working person,"
a neighbor said.
"I couldn't see this coming at all."

Police say the scene was "extremely bloody." It is reported that Brea decapitated his mother and that police used a taser to subdue Brea when they arrived at the scene at around 2:20AM. These claims have not been verified by other sources.

The A.V. Club casts doubt on Brea's status as a professional actor -- he doesn't, after all, have an IMDb page -- justifying skepticism by "a complete lack of supporting Internet evidence." Other outlets are referring to Brea as an "aspiring actor."

In an interview with Haitian film site BelFilm in 2009, Brea said:
"I remember growing up and my mother was always feeding people who were less fortunate. My parents raised me to always share and to give charity in the name of God."
It's reported that Brea also owned a Subway restaurant in Brooklyn with his brother.

Neighbors described the mother and son as "quiet people." The neighbors also say,
"Brea did not give any outward indication of mental illness, and it is unknown what made the actor snap. He apparently had an affinity for martial arts."

"I heard a shriek, someone yelling, and after that probably like a, 'Help me.' And probably about five minutes after that the sound went away,"
said another neighbor.

This is some serious stuff! As fans of "Ugly Betty," we do not remember him nor can we find out what character Brea was on the show.

T.I. Not Allowed Out Of Georgia After Prison!

T.I. won't exactly be a free man when he's released from prison next year -- it is reported that he'll be barred from leaving the northern half of Georgia without a really, really good excuse.

According to the court docs, T.I. won't be allowed to leave the Northern District of Georgia --
Atlanta, Gainesville, Rome and Newnan -- unless he can prove it's for "verified employment within the United States." That means he can't leave the country.

T.I. is also banned from leaving northern Georgia for more than seven calendar days per month or for more than seven days in a row.

And that's not all ... as long as T.I. is on probation, he can't drive a vehicle, can't own "any firearm, dangerous weapon, or other destructive device," and must participate in a drug/alcohol testing and treatment program.

Restraining Order Issued Against Floyd Mayweather Jr. For Threatening to Kill

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been ordered to stay away from his baby mama Josie Harris and their two children ... as a result of a domestic incident back in September.

The boxing champ was not present at the Clark County Courthouse in Las Vegas where the judge issued the ruling.

As we previously reported, Floyd's baby mama Josie Harris claims the boxer beat her up, threatened to kill her and stole her cell phone on September 9.

The judge set Floyd's bail at $31,000 -- and stated that she did not believe he was a flight risk.

Floyd is due back in court in January.

10 Things Lil Wayne Accomplished Behind Bars

It's been eight months, and today marks the day when Lil Wayne finally gets released form prison. Celebrities and fans can't wait to see what he does next, but according to MTV he got a whole lot done while he was locked up.

Here are 10 things Weezy Accomplished while he was locked up according to MTV:

1. He released a chart-topping album

How in the hell did he ... ? Yeah, that was our response, too. Though he'd been gone for more than five months at the time, Weezy released I Am Not A Human Being—an album featuring 10 brand new tracks—at the end of September. He's sold more than 250,000 copies of the album so far and landed at the top of the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. Out of this world, huh?
2. He increased the buzz for Tha Carter IV

Originally, Cash Money/Young Money was going to release Tha Carter IV shortly after Wayne got out of jail (or, at least, that's was they said they were going to do). However, thanks to the success of I Am Not A Human Being as well as the success of Drake and Nicki Minaj, it sounds like he'll have plenty of time to build even more buzz around himself before he drops his next album. Shooting to sell another mill, huh, Wayne?
3. He made personal connections with his fans

Most rappers that go to jail disappear. Not Wayne. Thanks to a blog called WeezyThanxYou, he maintained almost constant communication with his fans during his incarceration and managed to shout some of them out in his letters when they sent him fan mail. The guy even shot off a message from solitary confinement. Not bad, huh?
4. He's rested up

Did you hear Wayne's jailhouse interview with Funkmaster Flex a couple months back? It's worth listening to because he sounds good. And while he admitted that he couldn't say the first thing he's going to do after he gets out of prison on the radio—which could mean a lot of things—some time away from being the life of the party was probably exactly what the doctor ordered.
5. He made his way onto President Barack Obama's iPod

In a recent Rolling Stone article, the Prez said Jay-Z is no longer the only rapper on his iPod. You're in the White House, Weezy!
6. He appeared in Drake's "Miss Me" video

Talk about knowing you've got a hit on your hands. Months before Drake's "Miss Me" took off as a single, Wayne shot a video of him doing his verse. So when the song finally did take off and Drake chose it as the third single from Thank Me Later, he had a clip of Weezy all ready to go.
7. He was featured on the biggest rap album of the year

An album called Recovery. By this guy named Eminem. Ever heard of him? (Sidebar: He appeared in a video for that song, too!)
8. He spent at least one week as the most downloaded artist in the world
Probably not a huge shock, right? But at the beginning of September, Wayne spent seven days as the most downloaded artist—in the world. Downloaded more than Drake. Downloaded more than Jay-Z. Hell, Wayne was downloaded more than Lady Gaga! And he hadn't recorded a new song in almost six months.
9. He heard Kanye West's entire album

As if Wayne needed anymore motivation to head straight from his cell to the studio, Kanye reportedly visited him in late September and spit his entire album for him. So now Wayne knows what he's up against, huh, 'Ye? Watch out.
10. He finally got a break from all the touring and recording

He might not admit it, but Wayne's jail sentence was probably a blessing in disguise. The 24/7/365 grind of being one of the most celebrated rappers on the planet can't be good for your health. Revitalized and recharged, we expect an even better "Best Rapper Alive" to emerge on November 4.
