Angry JetBlue Flight Attendant Curses Out Passenger & Makes Emergency Exit! - Faces 7 Years! [VIDEOS + Details Included]

On Aug. 9, 2010, Steven Slater, a JetBlue flight attendant, was arrested Monday on charges he got into a fight with a passenger and fled by deploying an emergency exit slide at New York's JFK Airport.

JetBlue Airways said in a statement that Slater has been suspended from duty pending an investigation.

Police say Slater, 38, lost his temper after a rule-breaking passenger hit him on the head with luggage.

In arguing against bail, Turman said Slater's mother has lung cancer. He faces up to seven years in prison if convicted.

Passenger Phil Catelinet said he heard the profanity-laced announcement on Flight 1052 from Pittsburgh, which he said ended with Slater saying,

"I've had it."

He described the announcement as "the most interesting part of the day to that point," but didn't see Slater use the exit slide or grab the beer.

It wasn't until he saw Slater on an airport train and overheard him talking about the escapade that he put it all together.

"He was smiling. He was happy he'd done this,"

Catelinet told NBC's "Today."

Slater appeared "pretty relieved" and "seemed like he was looking forward to whatever comes next careerwise," Catelinet told CBS' "Early Show."

By Monday night, several Facebook pages had been set up in tribute to Slater, with many users of the social networking site expressing support for his grand exit from his job.

Slater was arrested at his home in the Belle Harbor section of Queens by Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police.

Slater's attorney's name wasn't immediately available, and there was no home telephone number listed for him. A woman who answered a phone at his previous residence in Thousand Oaks, Calif., identified herself as his mother but said she wasn't speaking to the media.

JetBlue Airways Corp. said in a statement that it was working with the Federal Aviation Administration and Port Authority police to investigate the matter. It said the safety of its customers and crew members was never at risk.

Slater was released on bail in New York.

Department of Correction spokesman Stephen Morello told the Associated Press that he doesn't have details on who posted the $2,500 bail for Steven Slater. He has been charged with criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and trespassing.

Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown said the endangerment charge came as a result of Slater opening the emergency exit door and deploying the emergency chute after landing.

"The emergency chute deploys at 3,000 pounds per square inch within seconds and could easily injure or kill ground crews or others on the tarmac who are unaware the chute has been activated,"

Brown said.

"This would have been a far different arraignment if someone had been standing under the emergency chute when it deployed."

The cost to replace the emergency escape slide is in excess of $25,000, according to Jet Blue security.

Lindsay Lohan Going To Jail! Cries To Judge... [VIDEO]

Lindsay Lohan was just sentenced to 90 days in jail for violating her probation in her DUI case, followed by a 90-day inpatient rehab program.



Judge Marsha Revel sentenced Lindsay Lohan after an incredulous prosecutor, Danette Meyers, told the judge that Lohan has been thumbing her nose at the court.

Lindsay violated probation by failing to attend her alcohol ed classes based on the schedule set by the judge. There were lots of excuses, but ultimately they didn't fly.

The judge said there was a pattern of violations since Lindsay was placed on probation in 2007 following her plea bargain in her DUI case.

Lindsay broke down as she addressed the court, telling the judge,

"I did the best I could."

Lindsay dissolved into tears when the judge imposed the sentence.

Lohan must surrender on July 20 in Judge Revel's court.

Sheriff's spokesperson Steve Whitmore just explained ... generally, a female inmate in Lindsay's situation only serves 25% of their sentence ... which means LiLo will most likely spend around 23 days behind bars.

TMZ reported that Waka was not going to be released but according to
sources rapper Waka Flocka was released from jail at 12am on March 19th.
He also wrote on his twitter , @WakaFlocka1017, to talk to his fans via
tiny chat and took the time to apologize for not showing up for clubs
and parties he was supposed to host.

Rumors have been circulating the internet all day that Waka Flocka has been released from jail but I have not seen any confirmation of this whatsoever. The sources that say Flocka was released are club promoters that hired him to attend their parties.

I am trying to find out the most up-to-date info....but right now the info says that Flocka is incarcerated until his court date with no bail.

I will keep you updated.

Lil Wayne Still Not In Jail: Postponed Again! [Plus Fan Video Outside Courthouse]

Here we go again! Lil Wayne's court case is postponed once again due to the fire at the Manhattan court house yesterday, this would be the third postponement (1st his teeth, then the fire, now the fire again!)

The fire shut Manhattan's main criminal courthouse for a second day and delayed a slew of cases but was an alleged electrical accident, officials said Tuesday.

Cases from the massive 17-story complex at 100 Centre St. were jammed into the much smaller courthouse across the street.

Trials and arraignments went on as scheduled, but visitors to 111 Centre St. had to wait on long lines, and lawyers, judges and defendants were squeezed into tighter quarters.

"For losing the biggest courthouse in the state, we're doing pretty well,"

said David Bookstaver, a spokesman for the Office of Court Administration.

"We expected it to be a bit messy, but we're still up and running."

Arraignments ordinarily conducted in three courtrooms at 100 Centre St. were held in a single courtroom across the street. Unsworn jurors were ordered to stay home and grand jurors had to report to 80 Centre St.

Courtroom 1045 at 111 Centre St. was pressed into service to handle the cases that would have played out in seven courtrooms.

"I give the court personnel a lot of credit for getting things going - they've done an amazing job"

said defense lawyer Stacey Richman.

"It's just that the other building doesn't have the facilities or space."

Richman represents Lil Wayne, who had flown to New York from Florida on Tuesday so he could start a yearlong jail term.
Tuesday's basement fire pushed that back to Monday - so the rapper enjoyed his unplanned night of freedom by performing his hit "I'm Going In" with Jay-Z at Madison Square Garden. (click here for backstage photos of Lil Wayne at Jay-Z's concert)

His lawyer wasn't sure if the rapper would hang out in the city until Monday.

"Maybe he's going to go home for the weekend....I think I would - the weather's nicer down there."

Lil Wayne's Not In Jail Yet, Due To Court House Fire! What Is The Next Excuse?

Did you get the news yet?! Lil Wayne's long-awaited sentencing on a gun charge has been postponed yet again, this time due to a fire today in the basement of Manhattan Criminal Court!

According to the FDNY, a small blaze broke out at 10:29 a.m., setting off smoke detectors and prompting a full evacuation of the building. It was brought under control by 11:55 a.m. Five firefighters, two civilians and one prisoner sustained minor injuries, but only one was taken to a hospital.

"It's not deemed suspicious, but the fire marshal is investigating the possibility the fire started thanks to some construction in one part of the courthouse,"

the department rep said.



The blaze, which broke out in the court's boiler room, resulted in the building being evacuated and closed for the rest of the day.

They say Lil Wayne will now begin his jail term tomorrow (March 3).

In any case, it further postpones a trip to jail for the 27-year-old Lil Wayne, real name Dwayne Carter III. He's facing a yearlong sentence at Rikers Island for weapons possession.

Weezy was originally supposed to be sentenced last month, but Judge Charles H. Solomon granted him a delay for emergency dental surgery. Since then, the Grammy-winning MC's posse has thrown him several send-offs, and he recorded a couple of goodbye videos for his fans.

Lil Wayne's lawyer, Stacey Richman, could not immediately be reached for comment.

In fact, Lindley Bertin sent Kim Kardashian a Korcula necklace featuring the double K design in 2008, and Kardashian has even been seen wearing it in public.

Ashanti Fan In Jail For Text Stalking!

NEW YORK - A delusional fan who unleashed his crude fantasies about Ashanti in a battery of text messages to her mother was sentenced Thursday to two years in jail, though his judge rued not being able to send him to psychological treatment instead.

A downcast Devar Hurd said he didn't mean to annoy or alarm the Grammy Award-winning R&B singer and her family when he sent the messages. Some included photos of his genitals and a picture of the family's Long Island home with a comment about stopping by to visit.

"My intent was not to harm," he told the judge. "I always wish the best for (Ashanti)."

Hurd, 31, was convicted in December of stalking and aggravated harassment. Ashanti's mother and manager, Tina Douglas, said she was glad to see the case closed with his sentencing.


"We're really so glad to have this behind us, and we feel justice has been served," she said through a spokeswoman.

Douglas told jurors the messages disgusted her and spurred her to hire extra security personnel. One message envisioned Hurd someday living with the multiplatinum-selling singer; another said his mental state "is very fragile with all this."

Hurd said the messages were intended as friendly repartee, "sex texting" and jokes, and he didn't think Douglas would mind them.

The would-be rapper from Griffith, Ind., didn't raise any psychiatric issues during his trial, where he gave jurors a lengthy account of what he described as a friendship and brewing business relationship with Douglas.

She said she didn't know Hurd and told him to leave her alone, to no avail.

After Hurd was convicted, doctors diagnosed him as having a delusional disorder, Manhattan state Supreme Court Justice Thomas Farber said. But months of efforts to arrange probation with mental-health treatment were unsuccessful, in part because Hurd has nowhere to live in New York, Farber said.

He gave Hurd the maximum possible sentence for the misdemeanor offenses, noting the fear Douglas said she felt because of the messages. Farber recommended psychiatric treatment for Hurd in jail.

"It's obvious to me that you need to get help," the judge said.

Prosecutors, who pushed for the maximum sentence, said Hurd should be held responsible for his explicit text-message blitz despite his psychological problems.

"Even if he believes that Ashanti was in love with him, his conduct was not that of a man wooing a woman. He was not sending her flowers," but rather barraging her mother with messages any parent would find objectionable, Assistant District Attorney Carolina Holderness said.
Hurd has been jailed since his July arrest, time that will count toward his sentence.

Ashanti didn't testify at the trial, and no one in her family attended Hurd's sentencing.

MJ's Family Lashes Out At Dr. Conrad Murray: "He Killed Him!"

In case you missed it: Michael Jackson’s doctor, Conrad Murray was charged at the Los Angeles County Courthouse on Monday with involuntary manslaughter after the MJ’s death last June due to a lethal combination of prescription drugs.

The judge presiding over the new celebrity courtroom drama is Keith L. Schwartz. During the hearing, Schwartz stated that Murray acted “without due caution and circumspection” and “did unlawfully and without malice, kill, Michael Joseph Jackson.”

As Doctor Conrad Murray approached the courthouse, legions of Jackson fans were there screaming “murderer” as he made his way up the courthouse steps.

Michael Jackson's family issued a series of statements decrying the doctor's not-guilty plea to the charge of involuntary manslaughter.

"He's lying. He's guilty. Nobody was there but him," Jackson's mother, Katherine, told the assembled media while leaving court. "He's just trying to save his own behind. ... He killed him. He wasn't monitoring him."

Murray, who faces up to four years in prison if convicted, didn't make a statement following his court appearance, during which he did not interact with the Jackson family members, according to reports. The Houston-based doctor is expected to leave Los Angeles after posting $75,000 bail.

"Dr. Murray is doing fine. ... He's in good spirits," attorney Edward Chernoff said during a press conference after the hearing.

As one expert suggested in an interview with MTV News, it could be hard to find an impartial jury in Los Angeles, a reality Chernoff said he was ready to deal with. "It's going to be tough, but I think if we get the right jury, the right result will come in," he said. "This has been a nightmare for [Murray] for many different reasons, and one of the reasons is that he lost a friend."


I really hope Michael gets the justice he deserves.

I personally think 4 years and keeping his license is too lenient...honestly. Dr. Murray knew he was doing something wrong administering these drugs in the 1st place. He took the risk, and it seems because of this "risk" he could have killed Michael Jackson by not reporting that he wasn't breathing. When someone is not breathing you call an ambulance, and in this case if your tactics are not working, ESPECIALLY AFTER AN HR, Murray could have or actually did hold back MJ from being saved! You feel me? I'm STILL really sad about the whole situation.

Dr. Dre Sues Suge Knight & Death Row Records!

Tmz is saying that Dre filed the federal lawsuit against Death Row -- which was created after Death Row filed for bankruptcy last year.

In the lawsuit, Dre claims he stopped getting checks from the label after he cut and ran in '96.

Dre says the new Death Row has been making lots of money by selling digital copies of "Chronic," "Chronic Re-Lit" and his greatest hits album without permission. (WOW..get that money Dre!)

Dre is suing for $75,000 minimum.

Sisqo Ordered To Pay Un-Paid Child Support For Underage Girl/ Wins "Hunk Contest" On TV Show w/ His Famous "Thongs"

Apparently R&B singer Sisqo had sex with an underage girl in Switzerland years ago. The 25 year old fan got pregnant 11 years ago and sued last year for financial help from the singer. Yes that means she was 14 when she got pregnant!
A judge in Switzerland now has ordered that Sisqo has to pay monthly support for the child.

Describing their alleged encounter in court documents, the woman said, "After the concert Sisqo was standing with his band at the bar. We went over and talked to them. Then everything went very fast. "I was so young, but I wanted to enjoy my life. Ian often saw his father on TV. He's very proud of him. It's up to his father to prove he's right to be proud."

The amount he has been ordered to pay is unknown, what is known is that Sisqo has consitantly refused to take a paternity test. If it would be proven without a doubt that he is the father he might actually face legal prosecution in the United states.

50 Cent Sues Taco Bell?

Fast food giant Taco Bell has agreed to pay 50 Cent $1 million to avoid a lawsuit filed by the rapper last year.

Fif sued the company for the illegal use of his name and image in promotional material after they referred to him directly in an advertisement. In the ad, a spokesperson encourages the rapper to change his name to "79 Cent," "89 Cent" or "99 Cent."

50's lawyer, Peter Raymond, said that the rapper and Taco Bell have since come to an agreement that "both parties are satisfied" with.

"We know that you adopted the name 50 Cent years ago as a metaphor for change," the commercial in question stated. "We at Taco Bell are also huge advocates for change. We encourage you to 'Think Outside the Bun' and hope you accept our offer."

According to the 50 Cent, the unauthorized use of his name can get "uncomfortable at some point, especially when corporations do it to you."

Rihanna has gotten herself into some legal drama again but this time it has nothing to do with Chris brown and everything to do with her neighbors?

TMZ Reported that Rihanna was sued by a neighbor claiming she and her friends drove all over his lawn -- and now she's trying to drive the suit right outta court.

In the original lawsuit, Christian Moeller claimed the singer had been allowing cars to drive on his lawn to get to her driveway... adding the cars are sometimes just parked on the grass.

But in Rihanna's response to the suit, just filed in L.A. County Superior Court, her lawyers deny almost every accusation -- saying neither she nor any person "acting in contact with her" caused "any damage whatsoever."
